Concept: Fighting Food Deserts

At the University of Colorado Boulder I enrolled in a course that focused on attempting to address issues in today's society through digital solutions.

For my project my partners and I focused on the issue of food desserts. Food deserts are areas where access to affordable, healthy, and nutritious food options are not available. 23.5 million Americans live in areas without supermarkets or a place where they can access fresh and affordable food. People living in these areas have higher rates of obesity, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and other health issues.

We decided to address the issue by providing a multifascited mobile site. This mobile site aimed to utilize community resources to help deliver nutritious food to those with limited access while educating the users by providing them with recipes for healthier meals.
